It is recommended to use this over manual installation. and then the files from the installation which i just performed would be new so it is conceivable they wouldn't index but i though file names themselves, if not all their contents, show up virtually immediately in search.FAForever/faf-linux provides a set of scripts to automate the installation of FAF on Linux. i would think it would have indexed by now. i can't find the disk image i downloaded with this software by filename either which is about three weeks old. obviously the"library" folder is not new. i know i'm looking for a folder so i really don't need 600 returns of emails that have "library" in their subject.īut the problem in not returning what i'm looking for which i know is there appears to be it is not finding hidden folders and/or has some indexing problem. while sorting the results by "kind" is helpful, being able to order the results to show the kind i'm looking for first, or not even show other kinds would be a step in the right direction. "library" is in various email subject, and sometimes i can't even find the word in the returns. I get a massive number of search results because the word, e.g. Maybe there are some search settings i'm not finding. ![]() in theory the power at my fingertips is vast compared to those days, but if i can't get things to install and run all that power is going begging. gone are the days when i just dragged an application into the "applications" folder and then i was all set to go. This is exceedingly frustrating as I seldom use the finder search except to find these kind of hidden installs and downloads which have become such a pain in the butt. I can look at the library folder, i know its there, but it is not returned in a search. ![]() Search in the finder can't even find the Library folder, nevermind anything in it. they claim to have succesfully installed but do not show up where they are supposed to when i navigate to those locations (hidden is shown, all of this stuff is trying to go in Library folder - although i'm unclear since i installed for "All users" if that means there is a separate overarching Library for all or if it will be in the Library file of the user who installed but available to other users). So I'm trying to confirm these are located in the right place after installation at each step. I'm trying to install QGIS and have instructions for install locations for various additional packages needed, GDAL and Python update, etc.
